Unlike timber and plastic battens, aluminium is non-combustible and will not degrade when exposed to sunlight, water or humidity. Aluminium is non-hygroscopic and can be used in situations of minimal ground clearance. It is the superior choice for multilevel construction.
AliBat has been tested* by BRANZ Structural Engineers and verified as being able to perform up to design wind pressures of 6.09kPa. The face is thick-walled aluminium; very important when calculating screw pull-out strength. Unlike thin wall light gauge steel battens, which struggle to hold a screw in high wind situations.
